Hi there!

Welcome to my website :)

My name is Ricardo Rocha and I’m 22 years old. I’m from Ponte de Lima, Portugal 🇵🇹 and I’m living in Zürich, Switzerland 🇨🇭

I am passionate about the airline business and convinced that data and mathematical models are essential for making better decisions. As the British statistician George Box famously said, “All models are wrong, but some are useful.” I am always looking for smarter ways to solve problems and genuinely enjoy learning through that journey.

Currently, I am conducting my MSc thesis in Aerospace Engineering (Operations & Environment) at TU Delft 🇳🇱 in collaboration with the Operations Research & Air Traffic Management team at SWISS. My work focuses on developing machine learning models to predict missed-connection risk for transfer passengers and support disruption management in hub operations.

More personally, I try to live simply and enjoy the little things in life. I often say that “life is as simple as one wants it to be,” and I try to live by that. Balance, both mentally and physically, is something I value and try to reflect in my everyday life.

On this website you’ll find my Résumé, a selection of Projects I’ve worked on, and a Blog where I occasionally write about topics that interest me.

I know that realistically not many people will read my articles, but if you do stumble upon one, I hope you find it interesting :)
