Turning complexity into opportunity.

I’m passionate about making things work better, from everyday routines to complex systems. I’m always looking for smarter ways of doing things and love learning from that process. That mindset naturally connects with my love for aviation, a field full of complexity, precision and endless opportunities to improve.

“Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.” - Albert Einstein

About me

Well… Now that you know I’m into optimization and enjoy solving practical, complex problems - let me tell you a bit more about myself.

I’m a 22-year-old master’s student at TU Delft, currently studying Aerospace Engineering in the Control & Operations track. My profile, Operations & Environment, focuses on optimizing airline and airport systems while balancing factors like cost, safety, efficiency, and environmental impact.

We answer questions like: “How can we make airline operations more efficient?” or “How do we optimize air traffic flows to reduce delays and improve punctuality?”. To answer these questions, we apply Operations Research methods such as agent-based simulations, mixed-integer linear programming, and smart (but not that complex) optimization algorithms to problems in air transportation. I’m also working as a Teaching Assistant at TU Delft, contributing to an international open-science project on aircraft noise.

But… Even though I really enjoy what I study, there's more to me than just academics.

I’m a very social person and love spending time with the people who matter to me. In my free time, I like working on small electronics projects, especially building RC planes (and trying to get them to fly). I’m also really keen on piloting and often fly on online simulators when I get the chance.

Books are a big part of my life too, especially classic literature and philosophical novels. When something inspires me, I write short reflections or poems, often tied to nature, as a way to slow down and clear my mind. I also mix music as a DJ from time to time — it’s a fun and creative way to disconnect and share good energy.

Staying active is important to me. I like working out, running, going for long walks, or just dancing around the kitchen while cooking something that wasn’t exactly in the meal plan.

Portfolio

So far, you’ve seen what I care about and how I think, now here’s how that plays out in practice.

This is a selection of projects I’ve worked on, often in collaboration with great teammates, each with a short overview of the challenge, the approach, and the results.
